A huge and well-deserved congratulations to Adam’s Fresh Chocolate, who were officially crowned 2016 Seed Fund Winner at the highly acclaimed Great Taste Awards in London, September 5th.
All four short-listed entrants were put through their paces at the Seed Fund final, held at Bakesmiths, Bristol but it was founder Adam, and business partner Mark who really impressed The Seed Fund judges and scooped the ultimate prize of a year’s worth of business and mentoring support from The Collaborators.

Adam, a chef, first became interested in nutrition in the early noughties. He found that micronutrients in raw plant foods are highly beneficial, particularly when the food is prepared at low temperatures so you don’t damage the beneficial elements. With this new approach to diet Adam looked for ways to share his experiences with friends and family. One way to achieve this was to combine numerous high mineral foods with cacao, which itself is bursting with compounds and micronutrients. He now uses an array of South American superfoods and the chocolate delivers an instant hit and burst of energy without the normal sugar crash afterwards.

The judges loved the story behind the brand and were taken with the superior taste of the chocolate, which is uniquely different to others currently in the marketplace. The duo, whose skillsets are a perfect combination, have already shown their commitment to the Academy Programme throughout the summer months, and the judges could clearly see their drive and ambition as well as their strong belief in their brand.

There is a growing demand for vegan and raw health foods and our judges were excited by the huge opportunity that lies ahead.

“Winning the support of The Seed Fund and The Collaborators means the message we want to share with the world will be stronger and more incisive. People’s diets can be massively improved by eating mineral rich raw foods like raw chocolate; we want to help people lead healthier lives, and to have this support to help spread our message is incredibly exciting”
