I became an entrepreneur straight out of university, and after an epic adventure, I’ve settled into helping businesses raise money as a crowdfunding advisor at Seedrs.
What skills can you bring as a mentor?
Empathy – I know what it’s like to be in your position! I’ve also helped very similar companies raise money very successfully through the crowd, so I know what works and what doesn’t when trying to attract investors.
What do you think makes the difference between a good business and a brilliant business?
Passionate founders. They will obsess over their product, and go to the ends of the earth for their customers. A constantly improving product and a relationship with the customer is the combination to success.
If you had your time again in business, what would you do differently?
I’d have done more deep research into my customers. Learning exactly what they like and don’t like about the product and adapting accordingly is so key. I listened too much to what I wanted, and not enough to what my customers wanted…
